In the majority of EPOS systems the cash drawer is connected to a receipt printer (EPSON, STAR, AXIOHM, CITIZEN, etc.), or to an EPOS terminal.
If a receipt printer or terminal is not available, it is possible to connect the drawer directly to a computer port.
Detection of drawer open or closed status is a feature of both configurations.
Cash Drawers with Computer Interfaces
Any of our cash drawers can be fitted with an interface, such that the cash drawer may be opened by a PC. For all models except the flip top (FT-100), the interface module is fitted in the rear of the cash drawer. For the FT-100, the interface is fitted in an external plastic box. The following gives an overview of the interfaces.
